This post is the one that marks the release of the game I spent most time developing, until today: Caste Break.

If you don’t know the game: it is a tower defense that you train units by mixing the tribes you have available. Some combinations of tribes will result in different units, while some others will just improve the stats of the unit. The graphics contains some of the limitations from the original Game Boy.

Play it on Game Jolt.

I spent almost 1 year and 3 months on it. I never thought it would took that long, even working only on my spare time, and especially for a game I planned making in a 1-week game jam. There is still content I would have liked to include, but when you start something, you got to finish it some time, right?

I imagined that, at this moment, I would have a lot of stuff to write and mumble about: what was changed and improved since the alpha version, the recent update of the underlying framework, the problems I faced. However, all I want right now is to publish the game, and see people having fun with it. My expectations aren’t high, as I don’t think the final gameplay is THAT good, as I falsely envisioned, previously. But I would LOVE to hear your feedback.

So, please, play it, and tell me what you think!
